Marching as a school on ANZAC Day has been a tradition at Cessnock East for many years. This year we are remembering our ANZACs in a different way. Whether learning at home or at school every student at Cessnock East received a craft pack to make their own poppy ready to Post a Poppy on ANZAC Day. Through this, we can unite together as a school community to remember the brave men and women who lost their lives in war and those who continue to serve.

At Cessnock East Public School it is our pleasure to acknowledge the Wonnaruah, Darkinjung and Awabakal people, the traditional custodians of the land on which our school is built. We pay respect to Elders past, present, and emerging and recognise their cultural heritage, beliefs and relationship with the land. At Cessnock East Public School we acknowledge the significance of culture in our education and thank the community for their ongoing support and for encouraging us to explore and satisfy our curiosity.
